The Business Advisory Services Unit
(BASU) at the Bahamas Development Bank was established to
take care of the invaluable intangibles that make business
ventures successful. It assists entrepreneurs with project
development and implementation, at various growth stages.
The unit assesses current situations, supports future developments
and provides options to goal achievements.

We are assisted in our endeavours by:
- The Caribbean Technological Consultancy Services (CTCS)
an arm of the Caribbean Development Bank.
- The Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) a subsidiary
of the CARICOM Secretariat.
What are the services offered?
- Advising and assisting potential local business persons
with regard to the establishment of a new business or with
the management of an existing one.
- Identifying investment/business opportunities and developing
business profiles.
- Co-ordinating and liaising with other government agencies
and the Chamber of Commerce for the receipt, processing
and implementation of business inquiries.
- Providing marketing, merchandising and public relations
advice to highlight any product produced by the many businesses.
Assisting entrepreneurs in securing their market share.
- Assisting entre p reneurs in the development, implementation
and growth stages of their projects.
- Provide Business Related Advisory Services to SME’s
in the area of record keeping, cash management, Inventory
control, accounting, procurement and marketing.

The Business Advisory Services Unit’s Mission is to
engage in developmental activities through the employment
of proactive measures in the areas of Training, Management
Advice, Finance, Marketing and Advocacy.
